Oh Dear, Oh Deer!

We have a doe who spends alot of time in our yard and on our path. Sometimes her fawns are with her, but usually they are not. Yesterday she was sitting on our path. My husband went to get a look at her. My dear and my deer are looking at each other. Hunting season is still a ways off so she is safe and we enjoy watching her.

This next picture is when he was sneaking up on her. I wanted to play dramatic spy music in the background. ;D

I love how there is a bird swooping down as I captured this next shot.

These are other beautiful things in God's Creation I have had the pleasure of enjoying the past few days.

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; Song of Solomon 2:12

Cute guys in new matching pajamas...

Daddy found a turtle. Ryan loved it! I finally made him let it go...

Releasing the turtle back into freedom....

Ricky getting his first driving lesson. He was nervous. Ryan was inside BEGGING for one. That makes ME nervous!

I love this face!

Our turkeys are back every day-we are thoroughly enjoying them.

And a special hello to my Bramma and Lew! ("Bramma" is not a misprint. That is my special name for my special Grandma!) Thank you for your sweet phone call. You are an encouragement to my heart. I love you both!!

I Love Sundays!

Life is very busy here right now. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with Bro. Steve Heidenreich. Listening to his stories from the mission fields around the world remind me once again how very blessed I am. I own many Bibles, yet many people thrill at receiving one page of God's Word. A missionary gave his Bible away one page at a time to people who had never seen one. They were exceedingly thankful to have a few verses of God's inspired Word. I am so rich in material things, yet sometimes think I do not have enough. The need for God's Word is so great around the world and I was deeply challenged. I want to be tender to how God can use me and my family to make an eternal difference.

We "enjoyed" more rain, but I love how it brings the birds out for all the worms.

Here are some pictures from our day. Have so much more I would love to tell, but will just post these for now.

Love on your family today. We are holding a funeral in a few hours for a dear lady who went to Heaven. Her family has loved her and been very close to her. They have no regrets. Though they are grieving they have sweet peace they treated her well and spoiled her. May we live with no regrets. Pass on some love today.

I am honored that you visited!

My Feathered Friends

I love all the beautiful birds God sends my way. Each one refreshes my spirit. Each one cheerfully busy doing what God created it to do. May that be the theme of my own life as well.

Oscar, our Baltimore Oriole...

A beautiful cardinal...

A spectactular goldfinch...

An industrious sparrow...

A Red-winged Blackbird...

A stately woodpecker...

Except for one picture, the rest were birds I enjoyed this week.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful parents! On Sunday it will be 39 years of marriage. I have watched my parents go through many, many things-good and bad-and I am proud to say that they have met each challenge together. Thank you for unconditional love and your unwavering example. I am proud of you both and deeply indebted to you. Have a wonderful day!

I trust that you will enjoy a wonderful Lord's Day. Drink in God's love and goodness. Gather refreshment and strength for the week ahead.

And as I have said before...

Blue Jays

Blue jays are my absolute favorite birds. They are very skittish and so I do not get good pictures of them very often, but I did today.
I love all the different shades of blue. I am so thankful that God put so much gorgeous variety in nature.
My daughter looks more like my sister all the time. I have lost count of all the times I have mistakenly called her Sarah. If you do not know my sister, this is her gorgeous hair that my daughter inherited. One of our favorite college young men is home for the summer. He is a hero to my boys and they love spending time with Zack. Welcome Home!
Mom, we are loving the cowboy hats you sent. Even the kittens love them! The hats will be broken in in no time. ;) Thank you so much for the wonderful goody bag you sent us! We feel loved and spoiled. I hope to try the cotton candy maker tomorrow.

And to end this hodge-podge post, I simply want to say that God is very good. I was overwhelmed in blessings on Sunday. So many good things from God! And today was a great day with my family. I also was able to get some amazing deals with coupons today! Wow! I love to coupon.

I trust that you are taking the time to recognize God's goodness in your life.

Bird Watching

We love to watch birds! I could never have enough bird feeders. My favorite is a lovely copper solar-powered one my beautiful sister gave me a couple of years ago. My pictures are not the best as I have alot about photography to learn, but I wanted to show you some of God's creation that we enjoy from our kitchen windows.

This is our first year to observe this fellow. He is a Northern Flicker. He is a type of woodpecker. I love the unusual markings!

American Bitterns come each year and I thrill to watch them. They have such a funny walk---and they don't care if we come outside to see them.....as long as we don't get too close. They are a type of heron.

Cardinals do not come often-and when they do they are extremely skittish. They always come in pairs. One stays on the outskirts of our yard while one feeds and then they switch places. This beautiful bird flew to the other side of my yard. I love the zoom on my new camera, but need to work on clarity. I am so glad our great God made so much variety in His creation.

This cute little nuthatch keeps knocking on our window. I have watched birds out these windows for years, but this is the first time we've had a bird beg to come in!

"For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;" Song of Solomon 2:11-12
